Admission Policy & Process

Why MVE?

We believe our school is a great choice for your child and family because of our environment. We are a close knit Christian community that serves boys and girls from K - 8th grade. We have small classrooms with a great student-teacher ratio and a dedicated intervention specialist in our building to work with any students that have unique learning needs.

Our school also is a great choice because of our teachers. MVE is blessed to have experienced Christian teachers who will build a trusting relationship with you and your student. Our teachers will not only help your students strive for academic excellence and critical thinking, but also guide your students in developing loving friendships, improving their character, and developing healthy bodies. MVE also provides opportunities for students and families to be involved in community outreach and extracurricular programs, whether through our school or local constituent churches.

Admissions Process & Policy

Admission Forms

When a family has completed and turned in an application form for their student(s), our school admissions committee will meet to review the application.

If accepted for admission to MVE, your family will receive an official notification with further instructions and the necessary forms so that there may be on record at the school office a transcript of your student's previous work, academic records, immunizations (to meet state requirements), and a continuing consent for treatment form. A physical examination is required of all new students as well as those entering 4th grade and 7th grade; a second MMR immunization is also required going into 7th grade.

Being a Christian is not a requirement for admission to MVE, but applicants will agree by their being part of our school to respect the Christian principles of MVE, and pledge to observe those principles.

It should be noted that our school does not have the necessary equipment or staff to offer special education. Students with serious physical, social, or scholastic problems may not be accepted if it is found by our staff and our school board that having them as a part of the student body would be detrimental to themselves, other students, or the school itself.

Minimum Age Requirement for Kindergarten / 1st Grade Admission: Each student entering kindergarten must be 5 years old before September 1; first grade students must be 6 years old before September 1. Parents wishing to have the school make an age exception must follow the guidelines as set forth by the Ohio Conference Board of Education. Please contact our principal for those guidelines.

NON - DISCRIMINATORY POLICY

Our school fully recognize that all people are children of God. Therefore, MVE accepts students of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at our school. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, and national or ethnic origin in administration or our educational policies, admissions policies, and school administered programs.
