Excellence in education is the ultimate goal of any school. MVE is no different and our school staff works hard to reach for that goal year after year. In addition to core curriculum, all students are engaged in studies of religion, art, music, technology, and physical education.
MVE is unique in our local community because we also include another very important component to our educational curriculum: the teachings of Jesus Christ. Our school exists to help students' grow their body, mind, and spirit. While academics and play engage the mind and the body, Christ’s teachings engage the spirit. So along with striving for academic excellence and physical fitness, our school has deliberately chosen to set time aside for daily classroom devotionals and weekly all-school chapel. MVE also has created a character development program that teaches students how to intentionally think, choose, and act as responsible citizens in their communities.

Mount Vernon SDA Elementary is chartered by the State of Ohio Board of Education. Mount Vernon SDA Elementary School is accredited by the National Council for Private Schools Accreditation (NCPSA) and the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists Schools, Colleges, and Universities.
